Merricks General Wine Store

Elgee Park is one of three Mornington Peninsula vignerons operating Mornington Peninsula region’s iconic bistro/produce shop and enduring social hub Merricks General Wine Store. Elgee Park, Baillieu Vineyard and Quealy Wines have launched a Cellar Door to showcase our collective wines.

Merricks General Wine Store was established in the 1920’s and continues to be a favourite peninsula destination. The original vernacular style building oozes rustic charm with its front gable bays and verandah, tree-shaded deck with outdoor fireplace, and generous and light-filled timber-floored interior, all recently updated to appeal to today’s savvy food and wine crowd.
All three brands produce and share a passion for Mornington Peninsula pinot noir which is evident at the new Cellar Door Bar showcase.

On the food front, local chef Janine Richmond (below) is at the helm of the Bistro. Fresh from gaining a first Chef’s Hat for The Flinders Hotel, Janine’s focus is on rustic, French-inspired and wine-friendly dishes with an emphasis on simplicity, seasonality and flavour.
