Harvested at ideal ripeness, this wine of dark red with a brilliant deep red hue, shows aromas of sour cherries and dried herbs. Full bodied, rich and intense with red cherries and chocolate that lingers for a long time; 11 months in French oak barrels of which 30% was new, adding complexity and structure. JAMES HALLIDAY RATING: 95 The colour is deep crimson; the bouquet has typical cool climate characters of dark chocolate, cedar and blackcurrant fruit. The palate shows rich plum with a fine tannin finish. The wine was matured in French oak barrels for 22 months. |
